Inspired by playwright Arthur Milner’s personal experience, Souffler la veilleuse, the French translation of Getting to Room Temperature, tells the story of a son faced with his 93-year-old mother’s wish to die with dignity. Through family memories, reflections on aging, and questions surrounding medical assistance in dying, the play explores our relationship with end-of-life and the choices that come with it, with humour and sensitivity.
Presented on tour by La Troupe du Jour and performed by Bruce McKay, the play invites audiences to laugh, reflect and open a conversation about an experience that touches us all: growing older, supporting those we love, and, one day, saying goodbye.
Written by Arthur Milner (Getting to Room Temperature). French translation by Jean Marc Dalpé. Directed by Mackenzie Dawson.
This performance is presented in French with no English surtitles.
