Music Show : 'BOMBOLESSÉ'

The French Canadian Association of Regina (Association canadienne-française de Regina) will host a music group BOMBOLESSÉ on February 4th, 2012.
BOMBOLESSÉ is a Samba-Reggae band in French, Portuguese, Spanish & Creole. On stage, the 5 musicians deliver an explosive show that gets 'dancers thinking & thinkers dancing!'
With its 5 musicians coming from different musical horizons, BOMBOLESSÉ succeeds in mixing funk and rock'n'roll with rhythms of Brazil, while passing by Africa, in a unique way. Their common ground is the love for Brazil and its origins which are at the base of the artistic orientation of the members of the band.
On stage or on disc,BOMBOLESSÉ is a contagious source of pleasure which one likes to share with all.

Regina, December 16th 2011. The Community Settlement Network (CSN) of Regina, under the leadership of the Association canadienne-française de Regina and in partnership with its members, the Assemblée communautaire fransaskoise, the Saint-Jean Baptiste parish, the Conseil de la coopération de la Saskatchewan, the Service fransaskois de formation aux adultes, the Association des juristes d'expression française de la Saskatchewan, the Centre d'appui à la famille et à l'enfance, the school council from Monseigneur de Laval and the Institut français. We are presently looking for families or individuals to be involved in our Newcomer Pairing Program starting in early 2012. This program will pair newcomers with families or individuals who know the city of Regina and its services and activities.
The role of volunteer families and individuals consist of helping newcomers (single or families) to adapt to and familiarise themselves with their new environment. The volunteer participants of this program will have the chance to live a unique intercultural exchange in addition to developing sought after skills in the field of immigration settlement. We ask for a commitment of only a few hours per week depending on your availability.
Interested families or individuals will have to attend an information session that will also raise awareness about intercultural relations. The pairings will start in middle to end of December 2011. Volunteers who are interested in participating in this program will be invited to indicate their availability when they register.
